A Guide To London’s Busiest Airports

London Business Class Travel Resources

Heathrow

London Heathrow airport operates as one of the busiest airports in the world. Hundreds of flights arrive and depart Heathrow every day, with thousands of people using it for their travels on a daily basis. Many airline carriers offer first class and business class tickets through Heathrow, including the popular British Airways and similar, less popular carriers from all over the world.

Heathrow is a relatively easy airport to navigate. If it is your final destination, you will not have to worry about finding a transfer gate location. Heathrow uses the satellite system of airport organization, using one central terminal with several others connected by a bus system. First, you will have to determine the terminal you need. This task will be easy due to Heathrow’s exceptional markings, maps, and signs in multiple languages to guide you to where you need to go.

Gatwick Airport

Gatwick typically focuses more on European traveling than on American flights. Most planes coming from the United States do not land at Gatwick, but certain occasions do call for it.
Two terminals exist in Gatwick: North and South. It takes about 20 minutes to transfer form one gate to another, so give yourself time to make it. Currently, a rapid inter-terminal shuttle exists to take you quickly to the other terminal.

It is more difficult to travel to Gatwick than Heathrow, but the flights will make up for the time difference. Every 15 minutes the Gatwick Express leaves from central London to the airport. It takes about 30 minutes of travel time to get there. Bus services and car rentals are also available for your transportation needs.

Stansted Airport

Stansted primarily accommodates those flying between London and the rest of Europe. The small size allows travelers to navigate easily throughout the airport. Travelers with little time to spend in the airport will benefit greatly from Stansted. They have a train called the Stansted Express that takes passengers on a 45-minute ride into the heart of London.

In addition to the Stansted Express, you can use the National Express East Anglia trains. These trains take travelers to Stratford in East London through the Lea Valley. The Stansted railway station is directly below the airport, and trains connect to the London Underground at Liverpool Street, Stratford, and Tottenham Hale. For more travel options, coaches and driving routes are accessible from the airport.
